As you have probably guessed from the title of this blog, my name is Dan McIntyre. I work in a small IT department for an SME in the north east of England, though the contents of this blog reflect my views and opinions and not those of my employer, so that’s enough about work.
My main hobbies and interests are all technology based. I like to tinker with electronics, mainly with the Arduino but not always, as well as anything to do with computers. I also enjoy mountain biking, although my fitness levels have been pretty prohibitive to this hobby of late. I guess I just need to get back on the proverbial bike. I also like photography. I think.
I currently manage a reasonably sized (~2000 edge port) network. I hold a CCNA routing and switching certification, and working up to CCNP. I’m also about to sit the CIINS exam for my CCNA Security certification, with plans to obtain CCNP Security over the next couple of years.
I’m a very opinionated person (in my opinion) and enjoy nothing more than ranting about stuff that I don’t agree with. I do like some things though. Sweet mince pies for example. I might even blog about those things sometimes. I always welcome debate and criticism as well, so don’t be afraid to jump in there and tell me I’m wrong!
If you find anything on this site useful, or would like me to go into more details on something I’ve written about just let me know in the comments.
